Health Protocol

DSN Health Protocol

At DSN our goal is to provide each and every child a fun-filled, safe and healthy experience. We are overseen by the Health Department of the State of NJ and we follow their strict health guidelines. At DSN we are extremely vigilant with cleanliness. Our classrooms, playgrounds, and toys are continuously sanitized throughout the year. Each classroom is equipped with a hand sanitizer and the children wash their hands with soap and water throughout the program.

Please review our basic health and safety guidelines stated below:

  • Allergies: A child with ANY allergy must provide a signed doctor’s allergy plan and all medication before the start date.
  • Due to various allergies, we cannot allow your child to bring any outside food.  We provide a snack and drinks daily.
  • Any child that is sick will be brought to be checked in our office. The director will determine if the child is well enough to stay and if not, will call the child’s parents to pick up the child. Fever is contagious so a child with a fever will not be allowed to remain with his/her group and will remain in the office until a guardian picks up the child from DSN.
  • We do not give any Tylenol, Motrin or medications.
  • A child must be fever-free for 24 hours before returning to DSN.
  • A child with an injured body part, including but not limited to a sprain or fracture, will not be permitted to come to DSN without a signed and dated letter from the child’s doctor stating the child’s restrictions and that the child can participate in all activities. This applies whether the injury happened outside of DSN or not.
  • Extreme behavior that endangers the safety of participants or staff will result in immediate dismissal. Extreme behavior includes any type of physical harm to another child or staff member. For example, hitting, punching, kicking, pushing, slapping, etc to participants or staff.
  • Biting is an extreme behavior that is not tolerated due to the safety of children and staff. After the first biting offense, the mother and father of the child will both be notified. If it happens a second time, the parent will be responsible to pick up the child from DSN immediately and both parents will be notified. The third offense, the parent will immediately need to provide a shadow at parent expense for all the remaining days of the program in order for the child to return for those days.

Please note- If any of the above or another not listed, medical or health condition, or extreme behavior, renders your child unfit to attend DSN, as determined by the director, for any amount of days or weeks, there will not be any refund or compensation for fees. No refunds will be given for early departures or absences regardless of leaving due to a personal reason or an administration reason.

At DSN, the safety and health of your child is our paramount priority, and the above policies reflect that. By sending your child to DSN, both parents are accepting all of these protocols and policies.

This health protocol is subject to change at any time without notice.

Please understand that the staff of DSN are required by their employment to uphold all the guidelines in this protocol.

We look forward to a great experience with your child at DSN.  Please feel free to reach out to us with any additional questions.
